Let's get some tech article promotion going on!! You asked for it, you got it :D now HELP MAKE USE OF IT. :headbang:

If you haven't already seen it, one of the best new features of the site is that we've brought back the Technical Library for posting all of the great Scrambler information we had on the previous version of the site AND now we can promote posts or threads going ALL THE WAY back to the beginning of the forum from right here inside the forum software! This makes it SO EASY for me to do, all I need is to know which ones to do it for and that's where y'all come in.

The technical library has been one of the most often-requested items for the site and we're really excited to be able to bring this to you. Now it's your turn to help make it SPECTACULAR!

What I need is for you to find those amazing tech threads you remember and/or have bookmarked and post a link to it in a reply in this thread.

It would be great if you could give me a quick summary of why you like it and want to see it promoted.

I want to see some of the old-timers really searching the memory banks to pull out some of the older threads!

I've already done it for spankrjs' great wiper binding fix thread

Here's an example of what I'm looking for, this is an old thread on u-joint replacement that I've referred back to MANY times myself and pointed tons of others to. Now I can finally give it a place of prestige in the new Technical Library and "unbury" it!

Big_Mark was a great asset to this forum back in the day: https://www.cj-8.com/content.php?21-U-joint-replacement-procedure

Ok, so you asked for this thing, now put a little bit of effort into making it as awesome as I'm dreaming it can be!!

I'll nominate the thread that Richard/Grantshire started "Don't use a Waggy Dana 44", I'll have to seach and link it here for you. That thread gets refered to on other boards all the time.

Found it.... https://www.cj-8.com/forum/showthread.php?14638-Don-t-Use-a-Wagoneer-Front-Axle&highlight=Dana+44

Hmmm, y'all don't want much do you? ;)

It's not set up to pull multiple different posts unfortunately, I can do it where one post is turned into the article (so I can choose a post well down in the thread) but then it can only pull in all of the rest of the posts after that.

A "multi-quote" like feature where I could check boxes through the whole thread to pull in would be cool, but to my knowledge nothing like that exists.

So if you give me a link to the first post that starts the door rebuild, I can pull from there.

One thing I just thought of, maybe I could duplicate the entire thread and then delete the extra posts out and promote THAT to an article, I like that thought but it will take me some time to deal with.....

There are most of the ones that I keep handy in my remember it section. A few are non Scrambler site one, but I thought that they would be of help for others.

I also have a link to the current MonsterSlayer site where there is info about the guages and Mopar MPFI install.

Also I have a PDF from a guy in Canada that outlines a lot of conventional wisdom about building a stroked 4.0l engine. It used to be published on Pirate4x4 but it is not out there at the moment. Not sure if that is for general consumption.

Wow Carl, I should have guessed that you'd be able to do that for me ;)

On the non-cj-8.com threads, I can't just pull them in as articles like the others, but I have a couple thoughts on that. You could make a new post on here with a quick intro to the thread and then post the link. I'd rather not just have an article that's nothing more than a link and I'm not going to have the time to check all of them out and write something up myself. They should be in separate posts so I can slot them each into their respective section.

Nothing says Carl has to do the separate posts either if anyone else out there wants to tackle it :fingerscrossed: they can just be in this thread here, that will be fine, or they could be new threads in their respective sections.

Before we post any PDFs (sounds awesome!) we'd need to ask permission from the author and post "reposted with permission" or the like.
