    Speedhut Speedometer Update

    Hey everyone.

Thanks for all the interest in and input on this gauge!

Update - We have finalized the design and have added a couple of cool new features to the list. The big one will be an dual axis Inclinometer (tilt sensor) that displays the angle of the slope of the vehicle on the LCD (front to rear as well as side to side) and has a user programmable warning buzzer to warn the driver of a possible roll over. The gauge will also be sealed for water resistance and to help keep out dust.

We will be offering two different bezel shapes in black and silver options (I just ordered the first prototypes of these from our machinist).

Time Frame - mid-July for getting the first prototypes built and then testing until the first of August. Begin taking orders and shipping in August.

Pricing - What you all have been waiting for. These are initial estimates...not set in stone:
$425 Basic Unit (GPS Speedo, Temp, and Fuel Level w/warning lights, high beam and turn signals. Includes GPS antenna, temp sender and mounting hardware)
$500 Deluxe Unit (Same as Basic with the addition of the Tachometer)
$550 Premium Unit (Same as Deluxe Unit with the addition of the Inclinometer).
Inclinometer can be added to the Basic Unit as an option.
Don't have pricing yet for auxiliary gauges and purchasing as a complete set (this will be an option), but should be close to comparable gauges on our site.

Thanks for all the feedback. I will give you all an update again in a couple of weeks.

    This sounds spectacular!!!!!

I don't even know what to say, an Inclinometer!?!?!?! I'd have never expected that! THIS IS EXCITING!
Finally got it running and driving the heck out of it!

This is awesome!!! I cant wait!!

Very curious what the gauge will look like with the inclinometer.

Is there any way to change the temp gauge to something else? I have a stand alone temp gauge with actual numbers that I want to keep. I'd prefer not to have a redundant gauge. (volts?) If not no big deal, just curious.

Good question...Speedhut specialize in customization, so, yes, the two auxiliary gauges (Water Temp and Fuel Level) can be swapped out for any other temperature, pressure, fuel level, vacuum, or volt meter! As for the inclinometer, it will be displayed on the LCD, not sure of details yet on looks.

We don't offer any pick ups, but you can find them that fit around the stainless lines. The signal from these will work. You can also just tie into the crank shaft sensor.

Will there be a clock gauge to match the cj clock but fed off of the GPS?

This would be great as part of a whole matching package.

    Speedhut Gauge Update

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post a couple pics of the machined parts for the gauges. One is a mockup to check fit. The other is of the bezel housing and cover.

    Bezel.jpgMock Up.jpg

We are making progress, just not as quick as we had hoped. It is looking like the end of July for the working prototypes to go out for testing and sometime toward mid to the end of August for production. Circuit board is being designed and then there will need to be a mountain of programming and debugging. Once we have working boards we can get the protos out.
