Seriously considering it, I had a blast the last time I went:thumbsup:

IIRC, about a 23 hour drive for me, so not too bad:rolleyes:

You thinking of going Mike:fingerscrossed::D:wave:

according to Google it's 27 hours. I really want to but I don't think it will be in the cards next year.

This will coincide with our annual pilgrimage to Moab. I'm willing to help in any way I can. We are trying to get out there the weekend before if Catherine can get a doctors appointment changed (she's on a strict schedule while in a clinical trial).

This will be open to non-Scrambler Owners Association members. Fees should be set in December. It will be less expensive if you are a member anne you get a great t-shirt and a nifty decal.

Google assumes that people drive the speed limit... does anyone actually do that? :shrug:

I love the Moab area. Is this open to non members?

anyone who knows me... knows I totally drive the speed limit at all times. ;)

Wow...I might be able to make this one!

So...anyone ever put a weight distributing hitch on a Scrambler? I want to be able to tow my travel trailer down... With Waggy axles, close to Waggy wheelbase and weight, and a Yukon XL powertrain, my only concern is if the frame will handle it!

I saw one once, but it didn't look very well done to my eyes anyway. I've heard it is better to go with a goose neck mount in the bed...

If Randy does it, it will probably look good in any of our eyes.

Randy, we'll be coming from Alabama. I want to meet you in person!

The reciever is what counts, if it is installed well, the WD hitch is no issue to use. As for the Scrambler handling it, no problem I once hooked on to a 12X50 trailer house and moved it out the spot to an open field with my Scrambler just to get it out of the way.

If you set up the WD hitch and reciever for the correct toungue weight of the travel trailer you should be able to tow it. A friend of mine had 13ft airstream trailer he towed with a CJ 5.

AS for the National Scramble I plan to be there, a short 4 hour diver for me.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Looking forward to meeting you too!

Don- I hooked up the trailer to the current hitch, but once I tensioned the load bars I noticed some flex in the mounting point. I think I just need to brace the leading edge of the hitch to about the rear spring hanger. Plus maybe convert to hydroboost brakes, and a heavier rear end. Looks like I should stop buying AR parts and get back to Jeep parts...
