Replacing rusted bed

Ok as usual small projects turn into big ones. We have put on the lift. Painted front axle and fuel tank. Now we are waiting on parts from www.rockauto.com. When we dropped the fuel tank I saw the bed had some rust spots. So now after pulling up the old rhino lining we plan on cutting out the bad spots in the bed. Here is my delima and maybe some of you guys with experience can offer advice.
1. Do we cut out entire bed and insert new metal? Is there a place to buy the replacement?
2. Do we cut out the rust holes and patch with sheet metal?
3. Do we cut out the rust holes and slide in sheet metal to cover the bed? I feel this would offer a location to trap moisture again. So not my favorite idea.
Picks attached.

I'd vote for replacing the entire bed. From the looks of it, it'd probably be a lot less work and you'd end up with a better job. Classic Enterprises sells the panel that you need...I had a link, but lost them when I had to reformat this computer.

another location

Actually found it cheaper at carparts.com but it is for a CJ7. $66.00
Will require a little fab work. But an economical fix.

There are different quality parts out there. Plus, the wheel wells are quite different between 7's and 8's.

measurement

Does anyone know the inside measurement of a CJ7 bed. Wheel well to wheel well? Thanks for everyone's advice and recommendations. I will post pics and let everyone know the quality of the piece I ordered. I expect a little fab work. I just can't see spending 450 on the bed when I would rather put that into the lockers, rims, and tires. Of course I want to keep my Scrambler with a stock look but I have to give somewhere.

Jeepit used two CJ7 floor panel from JCWhitney; however it doesn’t look like it is corrugated the same. Not a problem if you do the whole floor, but if it is just the back portion a stock CJ7 might be better.

Thanks

Thank you, that helps. That is similar to my plan. Waiting on parts. Removed both drive shafts, had to grind off the small bolts on one shaft and remove the remaining studs with vise grips. Removed old ujoints, sanded, installed new ujoints and painted. Both axles have been replaced on the new springs, waiting on brake lines, master cylinder, rear brake cylinders, and the bed insert. One repair evolved into many.

Ok, tell me why I want to spend $270 for these 2 parts and have a 3 piece floor repair job instead of using this part below for $400?

Or do I want to try and find a good solid YJ tub and remove the floor from it and used it instead?

I've also asked about 1 piece sides and no one answers??

floor pans

I guess it depend upon how much rust you had to replace. I am like you, I would replace it all for the $400. I am having the same issue with the rear bed. A half section for $165 or the entire bed for $450. I actually made a mistake and thought I found a CJ7 bed for $66 but that was incorrect. Age is getting to me. So for the time being I am putting the job off until Spring.
If anyone has had good results and know of quality body parts please post them here. Has anyone ordered body parts from Collins Brothers out of Texas? http://www.collinsbrosjeep.com/main.htm
