I have been researching Jacobs ingnitions, particularly the Omni Magnum. Are these systems worth the money? I do want an ignition upgrade and I have performed the TFI already, but I think there must be something better than that. Any suggestions welcome

I think it is a complete waste of money. I am embarrassed to admit I bought one a few years back before I did the 4.0 conversion. Luckily, I found a buyer for it and my Weber and got about half my money back out of it.

If I was going to upgrade the ignition of a 258, I would consider an upgrade discussed frequently on the ORC forum and commonly refereed to as the TeamRush upgrade. Here are a couple of websites on the subject:
www.swbbbs.freeservers.com/teamrush.htm
www.jeepz.com/offroad/how.../index.htm

Later, Ken.

My results were much more positive, I had it first with the four cyl, it really smoothed out the idle and gave me more power. When I installed the 258 it switched right over and gave me the same results.

Thanx for the Team Rush info, I've seen it with different names, but all in the same I have to do it, makes perfect sense!
