My Fellow Scrambler Owners
It's been a little over a month since I bought my Scrambler that had sat since 2002
I just wanted to give you all an update...in between road trips for work I have managed to replace the fuel pump., the starter and the solenoid ,battery, fuel lines the fuel sending unit as well as cleaned out the gas tank...replaced the front brake caliper rotors and brake lines turned the rear brake drums and cleaned the carburetor and have driven the Jeep Scrambler for the first time today WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!! The biggest grin you could ever see on my face
It feels so good to have her running and on the road again and to have my butt sitting behind the wheel of a Jeep Scrambler again...
I still have a few things to work the kinks out of ...for instance when I use the starter switch on the column it does not want to disengage the starter...again starter and solenoid have been replaced and the solenoid twice to make sure so any suggestion would greatly be appreciated on if it’s the key switch or something other than that I should check first..
I have a popping noise in the front...I noticed the engine mounts needs to be replaced could be some of the noise as well as I am guessing some grease if I can find grease fittings and or replacement of a few joints are in my near future
I have vacuum lines that need to be replaced and or figure out where some of them went since they are hanging loose as I replace the rubber air lines
I am searching for some tires...keep in mind this is all original so suggestions on tires and tire sizes would greatly be appreciated..it has dry rotted 31's on it now should I stay with those or go to something different and if anyone is close to me (NC that I can drive to) that has a set of tires for sell please IM me
