Paint color with nutmeg interior

I am in the middle of a frame off resto mod on my scrambler and I am trying to decide on a paint color. The jeep was originally sebring red before the PO spray painted it butt ugly blue. I thought I wanted to go back with the red, but it seems like all the scramblers around here are red. I also am going to use nutmeg for the interior since this is going to be mainly summer vehicle and the black seats get way too hot. Any one got any suggestions? Factory colors are not a requirement. Just something that looks good and isn't going to be crazy expensive to have painted.

I agree with you totally on the red. Glad to hear that's out :)

I like the earthy colors etc against nutmeg. Green, yellow, brown, copper, etc. spanks has a gorgeous Sherwood green on here. I have a yellow 7 on here with nutmeg and and copper 8. And white and nutmeg looks good, and on all of these some sort of oem decal package really sets it all off.

My truck is 2013 JK Commando Green which has garnered approval here and from anyone who's seen itImageUploadedByTapatalk1421101530.028958.jpg admittedly those trims are Honey but I don't think there'll be too much difference.

Another possibility is what we are doing to the cj8 we have, again a JK colour , Sahara Tan. I think it is real niceImageUploadedByTapatalk1421101819.993987.jpg

medgreen.jpgI have one in Med green metallic, love Sherwood green too. Honey is an 85-86 color that is a lot closer to the Spice used on early YJ's, so finding replacement stuff is easier (tops, doors, spare covers, etc). SEM also makes a vinyl dye that matches Honey perfectly (Camel).

I love nutmeg, but nobody makes anything in Nutmeg anymore, so it's really really tough to find good interior stuff in nutmeg.

Here's med green metallic. Gad that would be a pretty CJ without those gawdawful wheels.

Agreed - and at the time of that photo it had around 28K original miles. It sold for around 15K...ditch the wheels and rear bumper...Agreed!

I was in the EXACT situation. I had a primed body. No interior (and sold the black stuff) and started planning. I knew I wanted the nutmeg/spice interior - for the same reason, e.g. Atlanta summers + no top + black interior...

I considered burnt orange, classic red, sage, silver, tan. I came very close to tan. But then saw an old Dodge truck in a light grayish blue. That was it. The hunt was on for the right shade. I went with a custom mix, single stage, no metal. It changes colors - goes more gray in some lights, more blue in others.

There is an amazing metallic blue one on here somewhere with The Blues which I think is just outstanding

Manhattan weren't you selling your blue monster? And why weren't you down the road keeping an eye on those other miscreants?

The true OEM Nutmeg is a very brilliant color that IMO, looks best against a darker base. Lighter combos look good but seem to take away from the contrast.

The more I think about it the more I think I want to stay away from dark colors. I have had dark green and dark blue vehicles in the past and they seemed to show every small scratch or paint chip like crazy. I am leaning towards either a white or tan color. I really like the look of white and nutmeg, but my company truck is white and the wife has a pearl(white) car already so I am starting to think the driveway/garage is going to be white overload. I need to figure out something soon because I need to paint the engine block now and I need to pick that color that will go with the vehicle color.

When I bought the '84 CJ-7 which turned into my Scrambler, it was originally a Renegade that was Sherwood Green with a Nutmeg interior. The outside had (sadly) been painted some ugly Navy blue, but the interior dash/doors/windshield frame were all still Sherwood Green. I actually really liked the green and Nutmeg combination.

I’m in the same sitch. I am weighting back to original brown which has a slight appearance of a golf flake or going root beer pearl with bronze wheels.??????

For what it's worth I'm painting mine this blue steel color. I've always loved the look of nutmeg and blue.

My :twocents: is to go with a forest green color. That really contrasts well with the tan/brown interior. And it's not the most common color around either.

Mine was originally Silver/Nutmeg and I never really cared for it (there is zero nutmeg on it today).
