Seats

My Scrambler came with Laredo seats in it. My older CJ-7 had some kind of stock non-bolstered bucket seats that were just incredibly comfortable. I am a pack rat and have kept both sets. I am torn between which ones I want to use. On the one hand, the Laredo seats seem more sought after and were stock in this rig. On the other hand, the other seats were just so much more comfortable.

What is the advantage / desire for the less comfortable bolstered Laredo seats?

Second part, I had replaced the stock fixed driver side seat bracket with a flip bracket from an early model YJ. The problem is that it seems less stable (it makes a lot more noise and side to side movement). Is there any way to "tighten" up a flip mechanism? Plus, it pitches the seat back a good bit more. Is this normal?

There might be something wrong with the flip part from the YJ seat. The flip mechanism I added to my seat works great and is quiet and stable (although the springs in my seat squeak).

After more research, it looks like my "laredo" seats are in fact just the standard Renegade black linen grain vinyl seats.

FYI Those are period correct aftermarket brand seats by a company called "kustom fit". They also made certain things like tire covers etc and could be found in the jeep SE catalogs prior to the high back seat becoming an offering for the 1980 model year.
I had those exact seats (although they were blue) in my Scrambler when I first bought it. They were comfy.

Didn't Leon Rosser sell those back in the day as their own brand too?
