I have a very good client, who, back in 2014 asked if I would travel to west Texas to do some work for them. They offered to fly me but I required so much equipment that I needed to drive. From WV it's a couple days one way, or a day and a half. I needed a secure, lightweight, enclosed trailer. One that pulled good and would be capable offroad for future use. Since I collected military vehicles anyway, the M-1102 seemed the perfect choice. I was going to Georgia to recover an M-1082 and picked up an M-1102 too. I purchased a brand new one that Uncle Sam never issued. I think it was a 2008 model. These trainers are just over 1,400 lbs empty with a 6,000lb torsion axle, 37x12.50 tires with bead locks and run flats, pointless hitch with onboard hydraulic surge brakes.
I had some square steel tubing laying around and some different gauges of plate left over from other projects. I made a frame out of the tubing, bolting it to the factory bow locations.
