Seat bracket question

ok
My 83 had the flip forward passenger seat bracket, and the slide forward drivers side seat bracket. While looking to replace them, I'm seeing drivers side flip forward brackets. Were there OEM drivers side flip forward seats? I don't need them to slide forward, as I am over 6' and don't have enough leg room as it is, but the flip could be handy for stashing stuff underneath. Also, if yes, are they consistent seat height with the passenger side? The room between your thighs and the steering wheel has always been an issue.

CJ7's had flip forward drivers seat brackets. At least all I have had did.

Great to know. Now I need to find one, there seem to be several on Ebay. Thank you!

My passenger is a flip, and too far forward for fat folk. Has this been solved here? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is very annoying how far forward you sit in those. No wonder everyone broke off the radio knobs. Your knees are right there in the dash. Get a passenger side flip from an early yj (I think pre 91). It is a little shorter to accommodate a slider. Otherwise if you add a slider to your current bracket your seat will be taller than the driver side.

My passenger seat, with no slider is already taller than the drivers side. I'm puzzled. Thanks for the reply.

Does anybody know how much shorter the pre-91 YJ passenger seat brackets are? I was also wondering if a post 91 bracket would work, and is it shorter as well?
Thanks

I can tell you it’s shorter and works nice. Put mine in without a slider and now it’s 1/2 inch or so lower than the drivers side. I’ll likely add a slider later, if I find a nice one from a cj.

Mine is pre-91, no idea about the later ones.

Got mine off eBay $65+- including shipping, a little high but I couldn’t find locally. They have more.

I’m looking at a couple on eBay as well. Waiting to hear back from one to make sure it’s advertised correctly.

Rays......2010 is where I got mine, fyi
Bought one off of eBay, from Rays as well.
$39.99 + 24.99 shipping.
How much drop do you think you got out of this mount? I’m hoping for 1-2 inches.
Thanks
