Got a pair of crusty Laredo seats that I am looking into recovering. Can find Laredo skins but cant seem to find the base skins.

Anyone found a good source?

AutoInteriorKits in CA on Ebay has the base high back upholstery kits. I just got their black denim kit for my wife's Scrambler. They charge a few bucks more for the denim but they are still really reasonable.

I am moving...in a direction...on my 8. Axles, wheels/tires, lift, front bumper, swing out tire carrier, and possibly cage from the 8 going to my red 1985 project. Then using the Laredo parts (front bumper, grill cover, steering wheel, console, grab bar, bumperettes, swing out, etc.) from this:

To make this.

I have a set of 5 15x7 Laredo wheels and nice/original sideboards. My 8 was not a Laredo from the factory, but highly optioned including A/C. I could use the Laredo covers, but checking into the black denim

Nice quality. The one thing I wish they would correct in their pattern is the small extensions on the bottom seat on each side that goes up and under the sides of the top cushion that covers the metal connecting them. Either the top cushion sides should be a little longer or the extension pieces need to be longer. When you sit on the seat it pulls the extension down enough to pop out. The next time I order upholstery from them, I'll ask for them to correct that. I did a set in plain vinyl previously and had the same problem but the vinyl stretched a little more than the denim vinyl for better coverage but still a little short. Got my new computer yesterday and can't figure out how to attach a picture to a reply. Took the pictures. Maybe later my wife can figure it out.

Here's the pictures. You can see where the back rest panels on each side of the pleats should have been longer and closer to the seat bottom. I even put extra padding in the seat bottom to try to raise it up but bottom has to stretch far enough to reach the slots for the hog rings. The next time I use them for upholstery, I'll call them instead of ordering off Ebay or at least leave them a message about the situation.
