TJ also has 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern so that wouldn't work either. I just went through the same decision process on my build. Find a CJ D44, narrow an Isuzu D44, narrow a D60, or build a Ford 9". I was told by several people that the D44 wouldn't stand up to the continuous abuse of a 6.0 LS. A D60 is stout but hangs down low, especially since I'm on 31" tires. And 5 lug D60 hubs are pricey! Ended up going with a fabricated Ford 9" from Quick Performance. The custom built fabricated housing, HD DOM tubes, welded perches, 31 spline axles, Explorer disc brake outers redrilled to CJ specs, and freight came to $1385. It will bolt right in and be the correct width and offset. (I got quotes of $400 and up locally to narrow the housings I already had.) A nodular housing, Daytona pinion support, true track limited slip, gearset and yoke all set up ready to bolt in this housing is another $1300. That was all within a couple hundred bucks of what I figured any of the other axles would end up costing. So $2685 out the door and you have a killer rear axle that bolts right in.
