For those of y'all that were following the start of my Jeepster build, ya already know a little bit.

For the rest of y'all who wanna know, I'll give a brief recap.

19th of July woke up in what I would later find out to be an SVT episode (Super Ventricular Tachycardia) with a heart rate of in around and upwards of 250bpm. EMS stopped my heart 3 times before it returned to a normal rate and rhythm.

Since them I've been in an on and off milder episodes nearly everyday, some lasting 2+ days, landing me back in the ER more than a couple times.

Today was the big day! Underwent ablation procedures to fix the issues. Turns out there were a few more issues than initially though once they got in and started mapping the electrical pathways and I ended up in 6 different AFIB events and had to be ecltrocardioverted 11 times because they were so severe that it had to be done multiple time for each event.

At the end of the day, I'm still alive with 20 different ablation spots in 3 chambers of my heart with an 80% chance that it was 100% completed. Even if it wasn't a 100% successful the areas that could cause it to happen again are tiny and very slim chance of repeat performances. All in all things went well and will be on my way home in the morning.

The last 2 months have been intense to say the least, but today was indescribable.

Glad to hear you are doing better, but the percentages listed made me think of Anchorman...

"60% of the time, it works every time"

Rest up and get better.

Not gonna lie, that's the docs exact words, and that's the first thing that came to minds aswell

Glad to hear that you are doing better.

I had one bout with SVT that landed me in an ER for three days. I understand all too well what you are going through. Heart issues are no joke.

Get some well needed rest and take care of yourself!

In the meantime you should have fewer/no episodes though, right?
In theory, but so far my resting HR hasn't dropped lower than 120-130s for more than a few minutes every now and then. They're saying that's normal for the first few weeks and should settle into a "normal" rate by a months time. As far as the SVT and A Fib goes, there's still a good chance of having episodes for up 6 months, however they shouldn't be as severe as the ones I've had recently. The albation procedure works by creating scar tissue to block the electrical pathways that are causing the issues, so it takes time for that to occur. I'm hopeful they did everything that was necessary, cause I sure don't wanna go through that again.

Well after 2 days of appointments and different pokings and proddings, CT scans, elctro and echo cardiograms and a few others that I don't recall. The 11 hrs or whatever it was back in September on the operating table was successful and everything seems to be working as it should. Dr says with a fair amount of certainty that I should most likely never have have these same issues again, at least not for a decade or 2. There is always the chance they reoccur, but fairly uncommon.

Yes we do, and gator is one of my favorites! Was planning on smoking one a few months ago that I posted about, but that fell through. My many years stationed down in GA may have had a hand in turning me into one of those rebel yanks...
