    Weak Stereo Volume...any ideas!?

My Retro Sound aftermarket stereo has started to have a very weak output. I believe it started around the time my alternator was unknowingly going bad and since I replaced the alternator. Both speakers work, head unit appears to work correctly, but volume at max volume the speakers only seem...

How did it do towing the Scrambler, understanding that the CJ is not at full weight? Would you use it to transport long distance to events or do you think just around town?

    Jeeps and trees

Well, since we have been using a fake Christmas tree for the past 3 years; I only have pictures of the Scrambler getting the next most-piney-est thing North Carolina has to offer. 4 Truck Loads of pine-needle mulch. I hate the stuff with a passion.

I actually like the retro decal packages for the new jeeps. They are too bland in stock décor for me, the retro decals add some character I think.

    New Alternator Solutions?

Thanks for the tips. Since I don't plan on putting a winch on in the near future I went with a NAPA replacement alternator. It is what had been on the Jeep since '01 and was a 78 amp unit.

    New Alternator Solutions?

This thread is a summary of Name That Noise from drivetrain. Turns out it was the alternator...making the noise I described below: Original post: So the Scrambler has thrown me a curve ball over the last month or so. It started making a noise that sounds like a medium-pitched humming or whine...

Operation Hammer Down aka Operation Red Team Blue Team

Mother of God, I thought that guy was dead when I saw the picture of him laying underneath his truck. Like it got struck by lightning while he was holding the driveshaft! It's even scarier that he is alive and looking like that actually.

Hmmm.....17 years in the Marines have skewed my perspectives. How in the world could Covert be someone's family name and not mean the practice of concealing ones identity or intentions.

    Name that noise

Thanks Jammer1, I will try the starter before I dive into anything more invasive. CJ7Pilot, 6 years of wear on the clutch since I restored the Jeep but also I did not replace the clutch when I restored it. It looked like it was in good shape and was not slipping so there could be more wear...

    Name that noise

Well, the good news is I checked all the bolts and they are still torqued. Bad news is the noise is still there, I fear I may have to pull the trans. That will have to be a winter project. If I pull it to check the pilot bushing and throwout bearing, do I put the T-5 back in!?
