    Bad Fuel Sending Unit?

FWIW, there's a guy over on JeepForum that figured out a way to get Omix and Crown gauges to work reliably. I think I'm more of a purist though. https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/85-cj7-fuel-temp-gauge-issue-4338415/ Scroll down to post #11

    Bad Fuel Sending Unit?

Well, shoot. I replaced the float (it was plastic, but only had a few drops of gas inside...but it shouldn't have any). I also adjusted the sending unit while there (empty read 83 ohms). Still no dice, so I ohm-ed the gauge and all of my resistances were waaay low...like in the single digits. I...

    Bad Fuel Sending Unit?

I check on my purchase date - bought the sending unit in May 2020...and it's never run right. I thought it was the gauge, but I removed it from the speedo cluster and inspected the windings, cleaned the points and reinstalled. It must be the sending unit because as I noted before, I can touch...

    Bad Fuel Sending Unit?

I know this has been covered many times, but I'd appreciate some electrical wisdom. Here's my situation... Setup: New sending unit (less than a year old) Gas gauge (visually inspected and windings seem to be fine; cleaned points) Dedicated grounds run to speedo cluster and to sending unit...

    Seat belt options

I’m getting an old and rusty scrambler up and running. I’m at the point of choosing seat belts. I have corbeau Baja jp seats and the stock roll bar. Can I use three point belts with these seats? Or do I need to install a harness bar and harnesses for the front seats?

    Where to Start?

I just scrapped my iron duke. Had it up for free on a local 4x4 site for a month and not a single taker. I think the scrap yard gave me $30?

Rubicon Express 4.5 Lift Install Question

OK. Reviving this thread with an update... I have the lift installed and have taken measurements, which are: Rear - 35" in length - Pinion yoke face angle - 8* - Transfer case yoke face angle - 7.9* - Shaft angle (top of yoke to top of yoke) - 20* Front - 31.5" in length I shared these...

An update, could use some prayers.

Randyzzz, I don't know you and I'm pretty new to this board, so apologies to you and the other board members if any of what I'm about to offer up is out of line. (FWIW, my mom is dealing with dementia too, so I can relate to your situation). • Read the book "Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande. He's...

Rubicon Express 4.5 Lift Install Question

Thanks for the explanation, BigWalton. They are the conversion shackles. I'll have to check into the YJ spring hanger swap.

Rubicon Express 4.5 Lift Install Question

Hi, John. This is Sean from Wheelin'4Hope (Blue CJ7). Can you elaborate? Why does it sort of work?

Rubicon Express 4.5 Lift Install Question

Haven't installed this yet (work is busy), but I have a wild idea that I wanted to run by you guys. I have swapped in an AMC304 and will likely run and 8274 winch. I'm worried that the front will squat. What if I swapped the spring packs - 6 springs up front and 5 springs in the rear. Do you...

Rubicon Express 4.5 Lift Install Question

Not yet. I got wrapped up in getting the steering box swapped out (going from manual to power). Now I'm traveling for work for a couple of weeks. If you're thinking of buying the RE lift kit, do it before the end of October. They're running a promotion and you can save about 10% on the price.

Rubicon Express 4.5 Lift Install Question

I'm about to install the RE 4.5 lift on my CJ8. I seem to recall reading somewhere (maybe on this forum) that the transfer case drop is unnecessary for scramblers due to the length of the drivetrain. Any thoughts or advice on this before I get started?
