Here's a walkthrough/interview at the LA Auto Show:
(don't really care for the host)

One of the most interesting parts is the interview with Tim Kuniskis Head of Jeep Brand North America.
At 14:55 - 15:41 they discuss the reasoning for the lack of the 2 door (lack of ROI due to low sale numbers), and the V8 (lack of space for crush zone).

At 13:32 he calls the Scrambler "a wrangler with a bed". WTF???

This is what I would love to build from the JT.
I think you will see a ton of this with the overland crowd. I saw some IG pics of one photo shopped with a patriot camper type rig replacing the bed on 40's similar to what you posted. Looked really good. Just rooftop tents etc on a bed rack will sell too. Rubicon model will have really good offroad capability you can't get with Tacoma having front and rear lockers. Toyota's are super reliable and have a strong aftermarket, but nothing compared to Jeep in my opinion. You could make a really awesome overland rig on 60's running 40's. I didn't like the look at first, and will never be able to afford one, but the aftermarket will help them sell.

While these pics are of a Double Cab Brute, I’m curious in the soft-top options that the aftermarket will offer:

I lol'd a lot at the new HD too. However, the High Country trim kiiiiiiind of saves it though:

No it doesn’t. There’s no saving any of that thing. Maybe it’s just the fact that the front of that thing is bigger than my whole country and the nameplate is longer than the Nullabor.

Wife had a JKU, loved it and got sad when we swapped it for a GC V6 oilburner. I was so impressed with that engine. My 3.2L 5 cylinder Ranger disappointed me beyond measure compared to the VM Motori V6. I always said as soon as they build the truck (I call it a ute) I’ll be in it and with the V6 I’m definitely in it. My current DD work vehicle is this Amarok 0FE1C94D-0920-4EA3-BBC4-73DCA99ABB03.jpeg
I need/like a canopy on the back making it the biggest wagon going (in Oz anyway) and keeps my tools secure and dry. High mount light bar as is required for mine access and a bull bar and I’m set. ARB will already have started building their ABS Ascent canopy for the JT just like Bedrug will already have their boat carpet tub liner. All I need is the AU$80k they’ll be asking for it here in the version I want. Here’s me taking my Waggie to the dragsCFFE5C76-B766-4770-A958-FD901C43ACA3.jpeg
