I just finished up with swapping the Dana 44 in the rear. I had custom 35 spline shafts made and cut to length since I also did a disc conversion. I have the original wide track 30 spline Dana 44 shafts out of the axle just sitting in my garage now. Any idea what I could sell these for? Thanks.

Curious also as I have 2 sets also. 1 is from housing with a spun pinion bearing

I don't know what you'd get, but I ended up giving my 44 to a buddy of mine and it had a broken shaft. He might be interested. He's a member on here but hasn't been on in awhile; let me poke him and see if he's interested.

I'm curious about the rear disc conversion. Do you notice a significant difference in stopping power? Does the parking brake work well?

Which kit did you use?

The disc conversion is the best thing ive done to my jeep yet. It stops better then any truck ive owned. I used a custom kit provided by ECGS. Since we did the disc conversion, I also had custom 35 spline chromoly's cut for my dana 44 in the rear. It's a beast of an axle.

How about the parking brake with the rear disc conversion? I tow a boat and often I'm at a boat ramp and NEED a solid parking brake...

Hey There, if your buddy isn't going to make use of that 44, I might be interested. I'm looking for a 44 wide track.

He said he wanted the shafts. I told him about this thread. Not sure what else to do. He's a port worker, so they've been busy amidst everything else here slowing to a crawl.

Shoot me a PM and I'll give you my contact info to pass along to him so we can work out payment and shipping. I think $200 is fair. Let me know if what he thinks.

I still wouldn't rely on the parking break.

Oh yes, of course, not entirely. It would always be in gear. But I like to have BOTH holding the vehicle. My questions for rear disc guys is how does the parking brake compare to the rear drum parking brake?

Here's what I did for a "holding brake". It's in-line with the rear brakes. Depress and hold the pedal, turn the valve and release the pedal. Works remarkably well. Pretty sure it's not "compliant" with mechanical "emergency brake" requirements but hey, I'll take care of me. Holds for days as I've tried starting the Jeep and moving it with the brake valve set and it will hold fast and not move.
