What to do with beaten up factory rear bumper?

So mine came with the factory rear bumper with the plastic end caps. The problem is it's been beaten on to the point that I don't have the skills to straighten it all out. It's bowed inward maybe half an inch on both ends, like both ends were backed into a tree, and there are a few large dents that I can't pull or hammer out. I had to cut the bolts holding on the end caps and those too need some tlc (a few cracks and a small chunk of one missing). The shop that painted the Jeep quoted me $2,500 to do that work, which, yeah, nah. So should I sell it? What'd it be worth? I'd love to fix it up and run it but a) I can't justify that cost and b) it'll honestly be better if a save the weight and either run no rear bumper or something slimmer/lighter. Open to any and all thoughts.

1. Great patina for a rustomod scrambler. Add Kim's aluminum end caps. It doesn't look like it has rot.
2. Sand blast, paint white, add Kim's aluminum end caps, done
3. Sell

I agree with the above.

For your STUNNING green 8, you need a nice tire rack on the back. That's my two cents.

If you decide not to use it I would be interested in trying to fix it up. I have been wanting to find a white rear bumper for my Scrambler. I live North of you in Loveland. Not sure if it's fixable. Does it have the mounting brackets?

I've got a bent and hammered one I'm planning on straightening and doing some body work on and painting white. I'm considering casting the bumper in aluminum. I would have to make one out of wood 1/4" thick everywhere. Ballpark figure from my foundry guy is 800 to 1000 to cast. I was thinking the price would be too high and shipping would add even more. And I'd need something for my effort. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Is the $800-1000 for the first one and then following ones would be cheaper?

Looking as well. So I'm in line. Would like to find one in not usable shape but intact to make metal patterns out of. It looks like it could be hand fabricated with the right measurements and patience. Might not be able to reproduce the roll radius but could get it close.

That is the foundry mans guess per bumper. All the fab stuff would be up to me to make it so it has the slight angles to come out of the sand mold. It was actually for the earlier bumper (77-79 Jeep truck) that he gave me the guess. That bumper is a little longer. Hoping the Scrambler one might be a little less. It cost me 150 to have a pair of my CJ front bumper extensions polished (and I block sanded them first) so polishing a whole bumper would be costly but doable. Painting one white would be easier. I just figured it would probably to too much for 95% of us to afford. But I'll be taking a Scramble bumper to the foundry to get a more accurate estimate.
