Roll Bar Removal... with a grinder?

I was afraid to use heat on rear ones because of proximity to fuel tank and filler hoses, but I suppose those can be removed (PITA!) Thx for ideas!

Roll Bar Removal... with a grinder?

Should also note the following: 1) some of the bolts are so corroded, that they're filled with paint and rust and will never accept a bit. 2) whoever invented torx bolts should be tarred and feathered.

Roll Bar Removal... with a grinder?

Probably not going to happen this summer, but when I replace panels over the winter in the bed area, I need to remove the rollbar. For laughs I picked up a couple T40 bits, and fed them to my impact gun. There are 16 torx bolts holding that rollbar in place. 0 moved. I soaked the best looking...

Just wanted to share this... maybe you've seen it.

Obviously no longer for sale, but perhaps one of the most beautiful scramblers I've ever seen. Had I seen this when it was for sale, I may have put my house up for sale and flew to texas to pick this up, without asking about the price. Maybe you all have seen this before...

    Instrument lights...

Turns out it's a bad switch. I checked each side of the fuse block to known good ground and it was zero, but spiked to about 4 volts when I touched the dimmer knob. Turned it one way, zero, the other way, zero, but saw a jump somewhere in the middle. Fiddled with it a little and got 12v at a...

    Inspection plate bolt size?

Been meaning to replace my flywheel inspection plate/cover (which I found in the bed of my scrambler when I bought it...) but there weren't any bolts. Looking at the bellhousing I'm guessing it's a fine thread, maybe 20, but not sure on size.

    Stupid wiper switch...

I'm not sure why, but it appears this switch doesnt have the same pin layout as the replacements for sale... any recommendations on which switch to buy to replace this? Also considering going to an intermittant setup if I can source parts.

    Stupid wiper switch...

The damned nut was installed backwards, no wonder I couldn't get it off (the two slots were toward the dash). I thought I was losing my mind! UGH. Well, its off. I guess I can't blame AMC. Another PO blame! J

Could be to cigarette lighter then. Good ol' AMC... maybe I need a fire extinguisher too.

    Instrument lights...

I've been trying to work through this rats nest of wiring to figure out how to get my instrument light to work. Played with dimmer while checking voltages, checked 3A fuse, then measured voltage across fusebox for the acc light fuse... 0 with lights on. Interesting. Based on wiring diagram, I...

Negative on heater core out. Also considered cigarette lighter? Appreciate input, I will check and see if i have that plug like yours with the orange and yellow wires... i bet that's where it goes and it was hacked at some point for stereo wiring.

Third mystery wire... this orangish wire has 12v in acc with lights on or off... voltage drops VERY slowly when acc turned off. Goes into what's left of factory harness about mid firewall. Factory looking connector.

Second mystery wire... this one appears to be spliced into the aftermarket stereo but appears original. Guessing it was for a factory speaker?? 4-5 volts from both sides!

Ok, first one is these two, an orange and a yellow taped together hanging from drivers side firewall... any guesses? Interesting connectors.

    Stupid wiper switch...

Ok. I get it, I'm not a mechanic. Or an engineer. But how in the world does this friggin' switch come out of the dash?!?! Mine has been so loose, that now if I turn the wipers on, it just spins the switch, which is of little help when it's raining. The chrome bezel spins, (but wont come off...
