    SJScrambler - Getting Started

I am on shirt #2 today and 2 of them last night... the humidity is pretty intense from the tropical storm that actually isn't raining on us, but just misting from time to time and holding steady at 88 degrees... just so thick. Firewall was a rust mess, just getting all the metal off and to the...

The plan was to take it to the scrap yard when I got enough to make it worthwhile... I cut out the heater vents for people with YJ tub conversions, along with the squirter hole, so they know where a CJ one goes vs. the YJ ones. If the Jeep logos are in good shape, I cut them out. After that...

Moving along, stupid hot last night, I don't know how people live down south... I finally packed it in and went inside and got some food and hung out with the kiddos and watched star wars :) Gas tank and skid are out, so is the heater setup... had to cut out the rear crossmember to get the...

    What's on your Work Bench?

Had to cut off the rear cross member to get at the bolts... they are frozen in there... it is a bummer, chrome is nice all over except in the inside. We will see how these shine up. cb

    SJScrambler - Getting Started

Rarely do I look forward to going "back to work", but after 4 days of cutting, splitting, stacking and running around getting parts, I need a break from the physical part and I need to use the brain part. Waht is left of a 1984 renegade CJ7 ice blue.... body was shot and some started working on...

    What's on your Work Bench?

Thanks... The metal ring welded in solves a lot of the problems I had in my head. I was hoping an all over lock down, not just the 3 point as that is how the plastic was in the one I had. cb

    What's on your Work Bench?

That is very impressive... the time taken to measure the finger wells and make sure they are all in the right spots and work well... how did he bond it to the metal? I have an extra center section from an old renegade I took apart that sat outside too long, now you have peaked my interest...

Wheels are all shined up, dash is out, fender is off... making progress once again... might be picking up another one this weekend, still trying to work out the timing and details on that... oh, also taking a few trees down as well (dead) so that all has to be cleaned up... never a dull moment...

    Times They Are A Changin'

It is an amazing journey, but yes, it definitely sorts out what is important and what you "need" to do vs. what you "want" to do for the next decade or so... cb

    SJScrambler - Getting Started

Some people have done it from what I have heard in the forums, but I have never done it. I am not sure what it would look like though... I imagine it would dull it a little, but if you do a light coat of the clear, hopefully not too much. cb

    SJScrambler - Getting Started

Yeah, the guy has bought a new Scrambler from out west and lives on the east coast and wants to keep it all original, so he wants the chrome wheels and not the white ones, wants a tilt column, other stuff... we will see in a couple weeks (Translation I have received no $$$ ;) ) So, I continue...

    SJScrambler - Getting Started

Other thing I did was get all the snapped bolts out of the center caps (most of them) and clean one of them up to see how it looks. all of them are stripped down now. I need to clean 3 caps, then final polishing, althoguh someone has contacted me about buying "as is" (I have them on CL...
