Accessory AND 'start' power source with Painless harness

Thank you. I'll check that out. Thanks all for the help. I think we'd best let this thread die off now.

    JMU Scrambler rebuild.

My FiTech was certainly easier to install. I'm just hoping the Holley will more reliable.

Accessory AND 'start' power source with Painless harness

I used that choke wire with my old harness and it worked, but the choke wire on my painless losses power during crank, which seems really odd. That warning in the Sniper installation manual caused me concern as well. I had the relay setup for my FiTech and it worked fine. Now I'm trying to...

Accessory AND 'start' power source with Painless harness

That's how I've got it set up now. I was hoping I could avoid that little Rube Goldberg setup now that I'm going from an FiTech to the Holley Sniper. Thanks Randy.

Accessory AND 'start' power source with Painless harness

Hello Scrambler brains trust, Quick question for the gurus out there: what source of power are others using to supply their efi's fuel pump power with during accessory/run AND cranking power? I've got a painless harness and previously i was using the coil power but I'd like to find its own...

82 UK Spec Laredo Scrambler Build No 2

Mine was the year before the D4D. It was the 3.0 efi td. Great engine but the 5 speed it came with was rubbish: 5th gear never held up. It popped out of 5th every time you let up on the accelerator. I'd replace the synchro and a year later it would be doing it again. It was a flaw with that...

82 UK Spec Laredo Scrambler Build No 2

My 2020 3 litre duramax diesel has 8000 miles now and i can still run my finger inside the tailpipe and it stays clean. My 2005 Hilux was an efi turbo diesel. It was clean, but nothing like my duramax. I'd love to see some pics of your D/CJ6, do you have a thread? I looked at importing a...

82 UK Spec Laredo Scrambler Build No 2

I miss my Hilux I had in Australia: 3 litre turbo diesel. When we moved to America in 2013 I looked at them here but they only offer them with petrol pig V6s; thirsty as your drunk Aunt Nelly and slow as a wet week. So I bought a duramax Chevy and love it.

    Wider Axles on a CJ8

I've never towed with mine, but unloaded it has definately improved.

    Wider Axles on a CJ8

I swapped masters to a disc/ disc from an early 60s 'vette. I thought I'd need a new proportioning valve but it works great as is. Rear disc has hand brake on an internal drum so it really was bolt in.

    Wider Axles on a CJ8

I've got 60.5" ECGS Dana 60 rear, Dana 44 front with discs all around. I could not be happier with the results. Mine is an '81, so a narrow track originally and it felt top-heavy with regular issues with rubbing. I've now got the same width as a YJ and it handles better and tracks like a new...

My 1982 California to Utah to PA

Very nice. Looks really well set up. Keeping it auto or going back to a manual? I've got the same Dana 60 rear, 44 front, suits the scrambler perfectly. I'm envious of your aero tank.

I'm 6'6" and I've made my Scrambler very comfortable (though I can't drive with the bulkhead in one). I put YJ spreader bars in from the roll bar to the windshield and i do have to duck a bit getting in, but no issues once I'm in. I just wasn't willing to alter a new rig to fit in it; no...
