@Chamba that looks to be a Mahindra Roxor. Mahindra has been making flatty clones for 70 years for the Indian market. I apologize if this information causes a purchase.... But the Roxor comes with ONLY a diesel engine and manual transmission! Jeep had an infringement lawsuit that made...
Without being there it is hard to say. Most of the axles I work on are 44, 60, 14 bolts and sterlings. What I normally do is whack the pinion on until the nut has a few threads of engagement then use an impact to tighten it down. From your picture your post dead blow position is where I would...
My plan is to tack weld the top mounting bolt on the motor side of the winch. If someone wants it bad enough to cut a tack weld they can cut a bolt too. Hopefully making it inconvenient to steal is enough.
This. Winches have higher sustained loads than anything else in the Jeep. A short term load like the starter can have a high amp draw as well. The starter isn't expected to run for minutes at a time though.
I have always had my 8274s directly connected. Several folks in my wheeling group have tried circuit breakers and cut offs. Everyone is directly wired now after several failures and issues on recoveries. The issue is amp draw on long hard pulls. I think some of those heavy duty quick connect...
To be honesty with your 4:1 300 I don't think a double would be necessary. The converter will give you a much better crawl ratio with the auto than the manual. In my wheeling group we have a magnum 205 behind a TH400, a 2 speed atlas with 11.7:1 combined behind an AX15. I am not a manual guy...
The 999 would be the easiest and cheapest path. If considering a GM transmission the 700R4 is a fine option. It has a 3.06 first which is great for crawling and a .70 overdrive for highway. My knock against the 400 is the lack of overdrive and its first gear. Your 4:1 transfer case may make...
I get a few ducks a year on my 8. My kids get excited to play with the ducks. I feel if it makes people look for jeeps and have interest that it is a good thing. That said a strong majority of folks that admire my 8 have no idea what it is.
True, I have un-fond memories of banging into the door opening on flat fenders and CJ5s. That said this does have a decent flow to it. It could grow on me. The practical side of me just doesn't like the thought of a proprietary door!
Very nice Yukon. I had a 97 for years. Ran it to 200K miles and got an 01 (that I also ran to 200K). The 97 was more truck like in ride, the 01 was more refined in ride quality. They were both great vehicles. Still daydream about getting something similar and putting tons and 40s under it.

Its a rolling 24 year clock. Older stuff is exempt. He is working on newer TJs, so has to be tested. Honestly I was quite surprised at how strict they are. An OBDII test matching computer/engine and VIN.
I was under the impression that an emissions intact swap was legal in California. You just need to have it approved once then just a normal annual inspection thereafter. If thats the case a TBI 350 or pre 06 LS wouldn't be a difficult thing to get approved.
Exactly. He even had an engine shop build the engine. New engines honestly have many of the same question marks as used... they just come with better warranties!
I have a friend in TX building a stroked turbo LJ. His experience with stroker cranks has been terrible. It took 4 cranks from 2 sources to get one that was usable. The first developed rod knock in 300 miles. It was .003 bent when inspected during teardown. Seller sent a replacement, it was...
I have the Xenon flairs on the rear. The fit is good even with my modified wheel opening. Seem durable as I have ripped them off several times without breaking them. They also provide decent coverage for most rigs. I am very wide and with the 6" flairs my rears stick out 3" per side. I had...
