    Next trip, early September, took us up to Grande Cache, to check out a fire lookout tower. In Alberta, we still have several manned towers. This was about the 14th of September, and it was already shuttered for the season.

    Sunday morning was bright and beautiful. And regretfully, home time. we made our way down the old mining road, aired up, and turned the wheels eastward, heading home, and already planning the next adventure.

    Night 3 was spent up at another abandoned mine. And we had some damn good scotch, Eric. You really need to come on one of these. A good ($350+ bottle) of scotch is a recurrence!! I think I spent $450 on the one for this year!! A man only lives once!! Skoal!!!

    Leaving the glacier behind, we headed up another forestry service road (FSR) to an abandoned mine, and another backcountry sledding cabin. Didn’t quite make the cabin, but we got to the mine.

    Have to check regs, can’t remember off top of my head what you’d need to bring a long gun up. You can always say you’re headed to Alaska! Lol!

    As long as you're insured and registered in your state, you're good to go. You just let me know when you want to come up, and I'll do some guiding for you! one difference tho, don't bring your short guns to the border, they won't let you in!

    Ryan was able to crawl his way right to the toe of the glacier.

    Next day, we cut our way thru a remaining “small” drift, so we could actually get right to the glacier. This is august 1!
