I should also mention that when it shifts into reverse I can feel the transmission engage and when I shift into D, 2, 1 I get no indication that it’s in gear.
All I can say at this point is “wow”.

Where do I get the tool to measure the line pressure? I think I’m going to check the front and rear band adjustments first. Then figure out how to check the line pressure. Again...

The problem is the fuel injection kit is for a 1972-1980 CJ. I was told it will not work. My question is why not? It’s seems like it would be compatible. I heard it’s a computer issue… Any insight...

I used my old carb from my 81 that I had from my fuel injection upgrade. Scoped the cylinders and did not see anything alarming. I agree that the motor may need a tear down/rebuild. At that point I would probably look for a complete used motor.
Update.....
Mounted the skid plate
Got it wired to turn the motor but...motor is seized.
Tried marvels mystery oil and got all but one cylinder penetrated with the oil in a couple days
One cylinder took a couple months to penetrate will oil.
Pulled the valve cover and everything looks in order...
