Advice needed: Looking at buying a project cj-8

My Novak AX15 is marketed by them to be heavy duty and capable of handeling (I think) 450 horse. I really like my AX15. It shifts beautifully and feels very sold. I'm only putting out 345 house though. For what you're talking about though I'd be looking at the NV4500 or a Tremec. The Toyota...

With my 8 dead and waiting for the new engine, this is a close as I can get to my 8 'currently'. But always following me around on our camp trips.

    Butters - Jeff's 81 Scrambler Build Thread

I've never built a 258, but on my last FJ40 I built, balanced, polished and bored the 2F. I shave the head 40 thousands and used factory plugs with an HEI and 2.5" exhaust. I gained about 2 mpg on average but the performance gain was considerable. Factory put out 135 horse and although I never...

The chinee are going electric because they own most of the raw material for batteries in the world and it sells well to The West. The only 'green' they'll ever care about is the Greenback. As electric gets more ubiquitous, the chinee have positioned themselves well to be the next middle east...

In fact, I was flying the inaugural flight on that one. First revenue flight since we took delivery; even had that 'new plane smell'. 321 is my favourite of the models.

I think you're right about decals. A buddy of mine in college had a base 7 but his dad was the service manager at the Jeep dealer in Cheyenne where he was from. He got renegade decals and they installed them perfectly. They slowly added renegade stuff as he found it in wrecking yards, etc...

Right? I was suprised too a while ago when he mentioned it in some thread about places our 8s had been registered. Very cool. I want to know where else in Europe he drove it.

We're you getting any pinging? Looks a bit like the timing was too far advanced giving you pre-detonation.

When I did my first engine swap (2000 Vortec 5.7 from a Tahoe into a 1984 HJ47/H55F 5 speed in 2001), I printed out the diagrams for both cars, then laid out the harnesses for both on the floor of my basement. I then spliced them together on the floor, testing as I went. Once I was happy...

Don't ever take this stunning machine to the Southeastern Sauna. One year in Florida and every bolt you have on that rig will look like that.

Good eyes, I totally missed that. He Americanised the fuel too, filling it with 'gas'. Next thing you know, Dave will be sporting a gun rack and following baseball. Winning him over one thing at a time.

And now: ECGS axles, Tom Woods drive shafts, AX15, brand new high performance 351W, cooling system, new seats, seat belts, tilt seat brackets, Tuffy centre console, sun visors, door panels, glove box, weather stripping, new Painless wiring harness, Speedhut gauges, dash board, bumpers...

I'm in: I wish I'd known more more about CJs when I bought her as this would NOT have been the one I'd bought. BUT, she was totally rust-free, so at least there's that (but a mechanical and electrical nightmare, built by the Budweiser Brigade). In the first year I had this POS, I think I logged...
