    Gladiator

No, I think I have put 3 miles on it since I bought it. Driving work Tundra, then went to GA Jeep swap meet with JeepAddict this weekend, then Saints game yesterday, back to work today........................................... Pretty specific break in period before I can cut loose in it, just...

    Scrambler or LJ?

Scrambler, too much body behind back tires to be an LJ :twocents:

    Gladiator

I went the other way yesterday, traded my 2022 Gladiator on a new 2024 Wrangler: The Gladiator was nice, but wasn't quite enough "truck" for the tradeoffs compared to a Wrangler, for me. I ordered a white one of these 60 something days ago, order confirmed, never scheduled for...

    Electric vs mechanical fans?

The OEM non-clutch fan has a smaller OD compared to the OEM clutch fan. The non-clutch fan has four blades, clutch fan has 7 blades IIRC. The non-clutch fan uses the 3 core radiator, clutch fan uses the 2 core radiator. If you use a 3 core radiator with the clutch fan there is not enough...

    Electric vs mechanical fans?

The shrouds are different between the clutch fan and the non clutch fan, just FYI.

    Electric vs mechanical fans?

1" to 1-1/4" clearance from face of clutch to face of radiator. Hesco t-stat housing. Sender facing front is for a secondary temperature gauge. Coolant temp sensor facing driver side. Like @sdsupilot I am a firm believer in mechanical fans.

    Electric vs mechanical fans?

On my red Scrambler I think I have an inch. Running 4.0, CJ v-belt front accessories, NAPA clutch fan. I have the Hesco t-stat housing so coolant temp sender sticks out toward driver side. I have beem using a Summit 2 core radiator, no issues. The three cores are too thick IMO for the clutch...

What was your face of clutch to face of radiator gap?

    Fan to radiator clearance?

Did you break a motor mount, or did the grill/radiator fall backward somehow?

carter carburetor rebuild kits … still available?

I bought a Walker branded rebuild kit from O'Reily auto parts last year for a 1985 AMC 2.5 I was working on.

    My Yuppie Jeep

Your 92 is MPI, correct? I know the earlier YJ 4 cylinders were TBI. Not the same, but a friend of mine had a 4 cylinder/5 speed TJ and that thing would easily do 70-75mph.

Page 17 my initial AC install, lot's of pictures. Page 23-25 is where I added an idler pulley. Take a look at those and let me know what else you need.

I'll post one up in a day or two. The setup I have is closer to the "dealer add on AC" versus the "from the factory AC" set up. PS pump on driver side like normal. AC compressor (Sanden style) mounted low on passenger side. Alternator mounted above AC compressor with a short belt from...

    My Yuppie Jeep

Not sure on the injected 2.5, but that 1985 2.5 CJ7 that I worked on recently could hit 70, but was much happier at 65. 2.5, T5, 4.10, factory computer controlled single barrel carburetor, AND stock size tires. Cool project

    spankrjs's Biloxi, MS '83 Scrambler

The air conditioning compresor belt started squeaking upon initially turning the AC on a few weeks ago. The squeak gradually became a squeal so time to investigate. All the pulleys are fine, no gouges or rough spots, all bearings spin free. I purchased this belt only two years ago, maybe it...

    Gladiator

Yes. Demand, but more importantly, it probably will not meet the newer/stricter emissions standards coming down the line, not enough ROI to make it compliant, just an educated guess
