i have an amc 360 out of a 79 wagoneer. I have looked at many tire/ gear ratio charts and they are all relatively close. I'm trying to figure out why my rpms are not jiving with any of those charts. 4.27 gears 32 inch tires, my tach says 3350 at 65 mph, where as most of the charts say it should...

what is a good carb for the 360? I have a 2150 but i believe it is too small with the 1.08 venturi size. I've been reading and most say that i need from 400 to 550 cfm. if anyone can give me some insight i'd appreciate it. thanks

i am guessing these are both narrow track. and i'm going to ask, without having to swap in a wide track front end any chance of getting 35's on here so they don't rub? i have 33x12.5x15's and they hit the springs when turned all the way.

figured it out dana 30 front dana 44 rear. front measured 53in. rear measured 49in.

okay motor heads, started it up today. idle at 750-800 timing was at 0. took up to 2500 timing was at 10-12. hooked up vacuum advance took it up to 2500 timing was 40. does all that sound okay. still have the issue of my vacuum advance being in the way of power steering belt.

where should i measure to see if i have wide or narrow track and what should those be? i have dana 44 front and rear.

ran across another issue. power steering belt runs into vacuum of distributor.

after i read that last post, i had a thought. this might be the one out of my cj7. title says its an 82, but everything about it says older. i think it's a 78, only because it still has the glass fuse block, and it had the 304 three speed combo. but whatever, i made it work, drill some new holes...

in this pics it is sitting in frame backwards just to hold up tranny for now.

after looking at you write up, the skid plate i have and you have look different. plus the fact that the only place it looks like i could put a mount is on my transfercase adapter. there isn't anything on the tranny. also i was wondering if you kept notes as to what slave cylinder and master...

i have the 360 and tranny mounted in jeep, tranny is ford t-18, stock skid plate won't work. any suggestions.

guess i should have mentioned what final set should be. amc 360, ford t 18, with dana t 18 transcase. hei, 2150 carb, headers. dana 44's front and rear, 4.27 gears. i think they have lockrite lockers right now want to change rear to something better.

trying to find a starter. preferably with solenoid on it instead of external. i hate extra wiring. any thoughts?

is anyone running a 360? i have one out of 79 wagoneer that won't have any emission stuff on it. would like to talk to someone who might have done this and could tell me about some things. thanks in advance for any help.

I took these brackets off my old scrambler frame to put onto the new frame but I forgot where they came from or what they are for can someone help me please?

What is the best way to take the steering shaft apart? And I am talking about the shaft itself not off of the column the d bar. I drilled the rivet out but it doesn't want to budge. Thanks
