Hey everyone! I have a large favor to ask as I'm a little stuck at the moment. I've searched everywhere and can't find concrete numbers regarding firewall holes. On my current build, the PO welded up almost every single hole in my firewall and I can no longer tell exactly where the holes were...
DEI is insane!
I've been working on laying all the insulation down for the scrambler and I've been using DEI Boom mat cause a friend recommended it over Dynamat. I was always a little hesitant but went with it anyways and ordered 2 10-packs for roughly ~$240z It looks similar to Dynamat in that...
Unfortunately the pictures and diagrams I've found online don't tell you the measurements correctly for the install of the factory side steps
My question, is this notched cutout in the underside intended for the rearmost bolthole in the sidestep?
Figured this would be a good place to compile some questions I had. Feel free to contribute.
1. Did all scramblers come with rocker trim moldings?
2. Did all Laredo models come with the "Laredo" glove box door decal?
3. Was it possible to get both clock/tach or get a clock only or a tach only...
Also getting some other stuff powdercoated gloss black, I found a guy in Shirley in Long Island, NY. If anyone needs a place in the New York area, ULTIMATE powder coating is your place. Really nice people and extremely extremely reasonable prices for top notch work. Here's a before pics of all...
This is all I got done so far, about 6 sheets laid. Doesn't look like much but it took almost 2 hours and I like tithing of myself as a fast worker.
Then the heater box breakdown, pretty boring but you get the idea
PS Whoever did this diagram is a saint:
This is where I stand now. I opted for POR-15 for the underside of the chassis. I masked off all of the drain plugs and holes on the underside of the tub and got to prepping. I bought myself a gallon of the degreaser, the metal prep, and the actual rust encapsulator. I've already sprayed the...
In the midst of a full rebuild and need to get wheels and tires soon. I'm doing a 4.5" lift and going with 35" tires. I was planning on going with 15" wheels but after seeing this pic I'm no longer convinced. Too much sidewall for my tastes. Anyone have 16" or 17" wheels on 35's? Pictures would...
Tub just got painted!! Pics!!
Just got pictures sent to me of the tub! The color looks much much darker/bluer but he assured me that it's jus thte quality of the pictures. Does paint get lighter while drying? I'm getting very nervous regarding the color, but the tub looks great. Please someone...
That color isn't based off of U.S. Postal trucks from the 1930's, is it? My local shop nearby, Blackstone Offroad is doing a ground up on an 8 for a customer and that's the color they chose...it looks identical. (Note: The fender flares in the pics have since been swapped out for the correct ones)
