I've got a 46 as well, it's called the Jalopy. Got it with no axles, tranny or transfer case. Sense then picked up a centered 44 flanged, T18, Dana 20 with Terra low. Dauntless is almost ready.

Growing up an old guy across town had a rusted out MB. Wanted $400 for it, which to a 14-15 year old kid in the 80's, was a lot of money. It disappeared, so that dream went with it (along with the two mid 60's MGB's the guy across the street had).

Fast forward a few years, I'm grown now, mortgage, two kids, and a CJ2 pops up on a backroad about 10 minutes from my house. Runs and drives, and actually wasn't too rusty. $1200. I hemmed and hawed around about it, decided I didn't have a place to keep it, and then the next day decided I could throw it under a tarp in the back yard until a better storage alternative came up, and the guy had sold it the day before.

There's one that's been sitting in a backyard down the road from my work for several years. I finally figured out who owned it and sent him a message on bookface asking if he'd sell it. He said it was actually his dad's and wasn't for sale, but I did notice a few days later that it had been moved, so maybe my inquiry will push them into getting it back in use and save it from a slow rot.

One of these days I'll find my cheap project flatty.
