1982 Rustic Hemi Build

Picked up a 1982 Scrambler from my friend AdamH after being inspired by his "It came home in buckets" build. Here is link to his build. https://www.cj-8.com/forum/showthread.php?40424-The-quot-It-came-home-in-buckets-quot-build-a-frame-off-on-an-81

BUILD PLANS - I like the "rustic" look of the Jeep, going to try to source better matching doors, repair limited rust and paint to match rustic look, keep dings and scratches, add clear coat to protect. Paint hard top black, not a fan of the golden yellow on this jeep. Frame off cleaning and paint, refresh all suspension and add Hemi with automatic for fun of it... So, I am renaming the build... "Rustic Hemi"

I am always open to suggestions, help and feedback, thanks all for reading...

Thank you AdamH, here a picture loaded up and heading to new home.

Is this the '82 that Adam was planning to build?

Definitely a sharp looking LJ!

Yep - Chris and I go way back. At the end of the day I didn't feel building a 2nd Scrambler was a good use of time and money since I have my 81. Planning on a car build this time around. Something different. Glad the 82 is with Chris just down the road from me.

I have a 360 ready to be rebuilt, but might try new direction... Picked up donor yesterday, has ~117k miles, ran three weeks ago before seller had wreck in ice storm and hit tree.

Spent the day getting rolling tires on wrecked WJ and finally got Hemi engine to run, sounds good, did spray oil out a cut oil cooler line, otherwise, all good. Ready to remove and start to source motor mounts for a Hemi in a CJ... If anyone knows measurements of motor mounts, I would welcome your hearing from you.

Move WJ into garage to start Hemi removal... Lot easier to disassembly with sawzall... Notice Driver frame rail thickness...

Beaters are neater.

Looks like it's going to be a fun toy.

I bought a highline kit for my LJ and a Hemi & trans swap is future project.
