Mid February I got the tub off to start tearing the frame down for cleanup and treatment.
During cleanup, this is where I found some cancer in the frame. The way that I look at it. No job is too big. And the first thing I did was I went to google and look to see if there was any frame repair pieces that I could just go out and buy. Well, I found out very quickly that the scrambler isn’t known for having the back half go. So I started making templates and using 3/16 flat plate. I cut out the templates welding them together to form C channels, then welding the C channels together to replace the back half that is now cut off

Lifetime BC rig? Good part of Canada to get an older car, not too much salt to destroy it.

You got to love it when they come up with something exotic to cause corrosion.

This is the update as of this morning
Just curious if you braced the sides before tipping the body up on it's side? I think the weight can cause issues with panels bending.

Best of luck in getting it back on the road!

I did not put braces in because the tub sides, floors, and door catches are all getting replaced. Everything will be straightened before going on the rotisserie

Today was a success! It took 8 hours but the rear section is glued in place. All of the measurements are within 1/64” and the height is 1/32” I’d say that’s pretty good for working in the drive on saw horses

Well I have had another productive week I got the body mount pads repaired and the frame finished out minus shock mounts. Still waiting for shock mounts and suspension.

I got the Dana 30 narrow track sandblasted, painted and bearing changed out. I can’t re assemble till I find a split nut socket for the upper ball joint.

Amc 20 got a master install sand blast and paint.

I made one from an old socket of the right size and a cut off wheel.
