Anyone swap an LS1 from a C5 corvette into a scrambler?

(got the feelings posting an LS swap question - thinking of James Lupo).

I have a local friend with a LS1 from a C5 corvette that is CLEAN with only 72,000 miles. Anyone done this in a scrambler? Or is it a bad fit for some reason? Price for a clean low mileage engine is really reasonable.

The sad face reaction was for Lupo, not the swap. These memes were always being exchanges with James in my texts. I have one more but it is a bit inappropriate.

While not an LS1, I have an LM7 in mine... She fits perfect.

Is that an LS1? I know there are a million version of LS...Just trying to see if there are any LS1 specific swap issue.

I would probably keep my AX-15; the LS1 doesn't make "alot" more than the AX is supposed to support.

I don't really know. It's a 5.3 out of a truck, 24 tooth crank reluctor, non afm, cam sensor on the back. It's considered a gen 3 motor.

Dennis at Collins did a Coffee Walk where he quickly mentioned one they did...

Maybe you could try contacting them for some input.

I believe the Corvette one has a shape that will interfere with your front axle. I have an LS1 out of a 98 SS Camaro and it works well. Same engine, just different oil pan and maybe some accessories.

The Truck engines have a deep pan that will work for this motor. You will need the oil pump pickup tube as well.
