What does the end that's circled connect to?

it has a male pin on the bottom that sits into a hole on the body side lip

there is also a rubber gasket that sits between the surround and the body side

Thanks. I bought a set of the surrounds with the crossbow for 40 bucks. Trying to see if I will eventually be able to Frankenstein them to work on my jeep

No problem. Make sure if you use them to also use those rubber seals. On the TJ I had, if I didn't have those installed the surrounds would rattle like crazy while driving.

It also has a male part that fits into a hole in either the windshield frame or a bracket mounted to the frame, I can't remember for sure.

I think the main support for the horizontal section is the two bolts that go through the roll bar/windshield support tube.
