Goal: Resto-mod to return to the nearly original look of a “brown Jeep.”

Model: Laredo

Final tire size: 31x10.5-15, (5) 15x8 original chrome Laredo wheels

Build details: Frame off restoration

Highlights- Stainless steel fuel and brake lines, stainless bolt kit, Phoenix Graphics, 21 gallon poly gas tank.

Engine: 258 ci I6, Holley Sniper FI

Transmission: 700r, taking advantage of the overdrive, with column shift and Novak adapters to match the D300 and 258cc.

Transfercase: Dana 300, rebuilt in 2018

Rear axle: Dana 44 from an 86 cj7, which came as an extra set of axels with the project. Given the choice of the amc 20 or D44, we went with the D44 since we already have CJ with an D44. Rebuilt in 2018, geared to 3:55.

Front axle: Dana 30 wide track

Suspension: OME Yj springs with a 2.5 inch lift. 1” body lift, Rocky Road front hangers, original rear hangers. MORE gear box. Hanger bolts changed to 1/2x13 bolts.

Exterior: Original paint was originally 3A Almond Beige, however when I purchase the project it had a fiberglass tub. At the moment I picked up the tub in Ohio, I had a buyer pick up the fiberglass tub. I found and bought an original tub that needed work. The final product will be Chestnut Metallic Brown, Nutmeg decals, wooden rails.

Interior: Original Nutmeg Laredo interior
