I know it has the plastic float, I tested it before I put it in. The old one was plastic too.

Last one for tonight. So I listed this as a California jeep build b/c it the last time it was titled was in California. But originally I looks like this jeep was a Colorado jeep

So no pics, I know I'm slacking. I'll try to grab some this weekend between family events.

Stuff I got done.
-Added keyed 12 volt wire to the choke that I had forgotten
-Set the timing correctly
-Put a black roll bar cover on it.
-Added a factory rear storage box in the back. still need to bolt it down

Things left to do...
-fix temp gauge by replacing bad sending unit.
-replace random blown bulbs in the dash gauges
-hook up radio
-fix turn signals and brake lights
-replace noisy throw out bearing.
-adjust parking brake cables

I really don't want to finishes this one, i'm really starting to like it. As soon as its done it has to go :(

Thanks Dain, I'd love to keep it but I have to many as it is. I need to finish my barn, and this jeep is the means to the end.
Now if I can ever get any time to finish up the details, I'll list it for sale.

Finally took minute last night to work on this one again. Temp gauge was bad so pulled the cluster back out and replaced the fuel and temp with crown units. Hopefully they last[emoji849].
After that got the radio in!

Agreed - what a perfect example of one to just get in and enjoy and still turn heads everywhere you go. Nice enough to win a show n shine if you wanted to enter but just enough "life happens" scratches here and there for it not to be used as a trailer queen. Very well done.

Thanks for the comments!

Okay, probably the last update other than a for sale post.
So I replaced the temp guage and sending unit and I was still getting a hot reading on the guage. The radiator checked out okay, its a three core heavy duty. I replace the thermostat still no luck, put a new water pump on and still no luck. The volt meter came out and found my brand new Standard brand sending unit did not spec out. :banghead: Order a new one up, it came in today and guess what... it was better but still did meet the mark. So I pulled one out of my green 7 which I know is good and bingo! good to go.

So the next thing was an ugly aftermarket radio antenna hole. I welded the hole up very carefully and then skimmed it with some finish puddy

I used the same paint that I used for the dash and grill, turned out decent IMO.

Next was the this dreaded throw out bearing that has been hounding me since I put this thing together.

Dustin, do you like the Mr Gasket radiator cap with the temp gauge? I have had two, but both have ended up getting the needles stuck at the normal temp reading and ended up useless. Just wondering what your experience has been.

Dain, I've had this one for a while but I only use it as a diagnostic tool

Gone....[emoji45]. Didn't even get a chance to play with it. Guy drove down the other day to take a look at it and bought it right there.
