Starting work on my newly acquired 1984 CJ7 Renegade and wanted to get a start on the interior. Lots of mold / dirt from sitting for almost 17 years. I am wanting to save the rear seat, door panels and dash. Front seats are long gone.

I've attacked them with some basic ArmorAll interior wipes. After almost 2 full cans I have the pieces looking tan/burnt orange again. The door panels were almost black. Night and day difference than before, but I know they can be better.

Any tips / tricks? And before you ask, yes I did use the soft fur of my daughter's cat to scrub with and that didn't work.

I think I used that spray on brake cleaner to clean up my vinyl bits. That's about the best you can do. Don't let it sit long or things dry out quick. Follow up with some vinyl restoring liquid eg armor all.

Citrus hand cleaner with pumice is what I used and it worked great. Still a lot of work and took three times but seats look great after.
