Has txsbill seen this thread yet (or can anyone reach him to tell him about it)? The whole idea was his brainchild, and it's great to have seen it materialize with so much hard work.

A LOT of people worked on this, but special thanks go out from me to John N for managing the first part of the build (rolling chassis), and Jason & Ken Adams (with a lot of help from Mike S./scrangler) for the final build.

Thanks again guys!

Anybody that had a hand in putting this thing together, contributing parts etc, feel free to fire me any info you have. There is a lot I need to know about it just for general maintenance, replacement parts like seals and bearings etc. You can e-mail info to cj8lvr@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Not a lot to know about what I donated. The Larado seats, console (I don't know what happened to the key, if I ever had it) and the gas tank (15 gallon, steel replacement). Use them and enjoy. I do know that Ken (Pappywaho) put a lot of effort into cleaning the seats up, so they look about as good as new.

I've already told you two how happy I am that you won the scrambler. To see your faces as the shock set in there at the trail head was priceless. I'm really happy for you guys! Only thought we may disagree on is I feel it would look really good with Rockwells:eek: ;) Just kidding:D

the video was actually longer, the part where Jake found out was cut off. youtube only allow 11 min of video. in the original i had too cut out most of jake's words of excitment.

Awesome

Congrats to the winners and all the great people who made it possible!

Saturday Moderate Ride

Did any pictures of saturdays moderate ride get posted and copies to Jake?

Don

I think we have some from Jody, but we have yet to sort through them. Hopefully we can sort this weekend.

The charity 8 went on it's first trail ride yesterday. Here are some pictures from the ride for anybody who is interested.
It has been off road once before but nothing difficult. Yesterday was a bit more challenging. It did quite well. No major issues. Only problem was with the fan shroud. When coming off a ledge, the engine must have rocked forward enough for the fan to contact the shroud and crack it down at the bottom. Motor mounts look fine. I'll just need a new fan shroud it looks like. Fan didn't touch the radiator.

The rocker protection were built by...you guessed it - Mike Starkebaum. I got them on just for this ride and I'll pull them off to have them blasted and painted. I used some body protection clear film on the body behind them from a local window tint shop. Worked like a champ.

Here are two of the better shots - thanks to Todd (Engbull on this forum).

Just like you were supposed too....:D

Way to go Jake! I knew it would look great with a fresh coat of mud on it! :D

Thanks guys, I just can't thank y'all enough!

Does anybody know where that fan shroud came from? What it's off of? Cherokee perhaps? Doesn't look like a CJ shroud but I may be mistaken.
