my jeeps got the 2.5. its an 81. number 1 and 4 are always covered in soot within 10 mins of driving. did a compression test and all came in at 150 except no4 which was 135. its not an oily deposit just a dry sooty one. why would those 2 cylinders be running so rich and the others not. theres a reman carb on it. i think it said rochester varijet or something to that effect. id like to remove all of the emissions off of it if i can find a decent older carb at the junkyard that doesnt have 150 damn vac fittings on it. but any suggestions on the richness?
