My brother has been a long time collector of Hit or Miss engines - he recently "upgraded" to something more advanced that runs on the road. He still has his engines, but this one really is cool, and I think very special.

It is a 1916 Overland - He's been doing a lot of work on it and got it road ready. I think between various mergers/buyouts between Overland/Knight/Willys and eventually AMC/Jeep.... I think this is probably the Great grandfather of our CJ's.

We took a drive in it today, and we are both fairly big guys... squeezed in somewhat tight on the single bench seat, but it ran great

The dashbord is somewhat familiar looking for older Jeeps, and the gas tank is in the cowl, like most cars at that time. The filler is inside the cab (the star shaped cap sticking out of the dashboard)
