i just swaped out the 4.0 engine in my wife's 96 cherokee . The donor was a 98 grand cherokee from Canada. The problem is i can't find the engine temp sensor. The old one was in the top of the head at the back end of the engine. There is no hole in the head for it and i can't seem to locate the sensor elsewhere. You guys have any ideas?

96 was the last year the temp sensor was in the back of the head. After that Jeep used the sensor in the thermostat housing for both the gauge and the computer.
Most simply put the sensor in one of the coolants lines.
