Looking for a new exhaust, probably catback, but will probably replace the cat as well. Just curious what other people were using/finding. Do you all prefer a side or rear exit for the tailpipe?

Is the engine a 4.2L? If so, you may want to try Borla for headers (assuming they still make them). I'm running Borla headers, high flow CAT (don't remember the mfg) and a Flowmaster muffler on my 4.2L.

Yea, it's a 4.2. I'm finding it hard to find setups. Seems like a lot of companies have discontinued production. Do you have a rear exit or side?

Last one I did was custom bent at a muffler shop. These engines don’t need much air, so a cheap exhaust is good enough.

I really suggest not doing side exhaust unless you’re you’re still in your 20’s or younger. The noise level will wear on you. Out the back and quieter is better.

If the engine a V8, then a side exhaust would tend to loader. I've been running my current exhaust setup for nearly 20 years and it isn't too load... unless I'm just deaf in my left ear...:)
