Looks great! The longer I see the whites on mine, the more I get attached to them.

This picture is my screen saver on my phone. Very much convinced me to get on with it.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1471769661.114316.jpg

Is this Oriental Red? I love the colour.

Thanks for the kind words folks by the way.

Man That is 1 fine looking jeep. I can't even see what needs to be gotten on with from here, other than driving it. Maybe sliding the seat back and cranking it over [emoji482]

The stepside isn't mine, just one of the many that's made it into my favorites folder.

Hello all you fine folks, er, it’s been a while. I see it is just as Toby said, in a very very nice message a few weeks ago, and you have a great “new” phone friendly forum format. It’s great! Toby thanks so much for checking in and you too BW (I just read your PM) I’m humbled to be sure and feel like a pig for just having disappeared. I’ll get reading and catch up on stuff like Sandblast which I’m sure was OTT. I’ll get there one year, mark my words!
A lot has happened since I was here last most notably I sold my beloved Farmtruk and man was that hard! I don’t know what possessed me but really I was trying to sell a little 928 I have here and that wasn’t going so well so I thought I’d go fishing with the truck and BAM! gone for full money ($20k Aussie pesos) to the first who saw it. The guy rolled up in the best proportioned JKU I’ve ever seen. Hard to get those things right be he had nailed it. He lives around here so I see it often which is bitter sweet. Hell I loved that thing. I have everything I need to build another so that’s a possibility (probability).
When I get back to what matters (playing Jeeps) I’ll be restoring my wagon. I really like those big Heeps and reckon I’ll make a nice enough 83 Limited that my wife will like to ride in with me. Thinking 6.1LS3/4L60e blah blah blah long term but for the time being I’ll throw on an edelbrock manifold, carb and the headers I have laying around. I’ll get that done for relatively low cost (not really) and formulate my plan.
Winter here has been long and wet so the Overlander hasn’t been out of the shed up at the beach house for a couple of months and the salty environment will be hurting it but you know what, after months I can take the cover off, connect the yellow top, couple of pumps and it fires right up and I’m that smiling Jeep idiot driving down the beach again. Even if it is blowing its ring out off the ocean.
Hey I got a Mavic Pro for Father’s Day a few weeks back and can’t wait to get that thing following me around the dunes and along the beach. Stand by for some (hopefully) cool pix and YouTube links.
Daughter is about to get her license so we got her a manual TJ. She’s stoked. My kids have to get manual licenses so that will go to the sone when his turn comes. I put a new Bestop on it and shelved the hardtop. She’s so excited now we are in the run up to summer. She’s all that! I have to turn those stupid door handles around, what on earth is up with those? What a fruitcake design change that was.
Anyways I’ll nick off for now and read up on what yall’s been doing
I hope everyone on this excellent forum is well!

Kids are approaching driving age now so we picked up a manual 2001 TJ for them. I've never ridden in one of those before but wow it's like riding around and a spa full of custard. Mmmmmm coils
New Supertop first, tyres second, sway bar links third, valve cover gasket next followed by.............

I’m gathering momentum to redo my Wagon. It’s a fine bus, 83 Limited and I plan to go full wood (plastic) with prolly either Dark metallic blue (Baltic??) or that gorgeous Spinaker Blue. Not sure. It will get used A LOT so most likely an LS of some sort and 4L70 :dunno:
Still can’t shake the CJ10 hangover yet though. I have two tubs, 1 bent rear wall, 1 rusty wall and a bent roof but I keep looking at my friends CJ8 restored frame standing up against the wall and thinking “CJ8 flat bed”. That would be cool.

Holy smokes I can’t believe I came back from the dead 5 years ago then apparently died again. Seems like only yesterday I reconnected with this fine forum. I’m not real good at this to be honest. Too easily distracted with work and other stuff.
I picked up a J20 a couple of years ago which will be the replacement for Farmtruk (CJ10) that I’ve never been able to get over selling. The J20 will be my wife’s and my camping truck complete with fridge, kitchen, swags, etc and we’ll take this when we want to get out in the bush or the beach for a few days. Longer trips will be a caravan or trailer behind our Ram.
Anyway, I have some outrageous news that some of you might find interesting. I can’t share it just yet, I have to get a couple of things sorted first but once they’re done I’ll be here with the details.
