Ok CJ-8.com family, I want to see if we can help out a hugely deserving Jeeper who's had yet another massive pile of bad luck dumped on him.

Some of you may know David Adams for different reasons, he's an absolute icon in the Jeep community and genuinely one of the nicest people you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. He's has degenerative genetic condition and has a power track chair that he uses to get around. Amazingly, he's still one of the best wheelers anywhere and has led every single trail in Moab and he was a driver on Truck Night in America (https://www.history.com/shows/truck-night-in-america/season-2/episode-10)

David's been reliant on others to drive him around. He came into a SWEET Willys Fleet Van that he set out to convert into a daily driver for him to use himself, driving his chair into the back. Some of that work was done in a shop in Utah, but he needed to move it to Unofficial Use Only here in Michigan, about an hour north of me to finish it.

It was headed this way this weekend... until an accident in western Nebraska that totaled his truck that was towing the Fleetvan. Fortunately all the people involved are ok and headed home. The van is ok and it's going to be picked up by some of David's friends who will take it back to a shop in Denver. I'll be getting specifics on the location soon.

I have volunteered to try to set up a relay to get the van up here to Michigan. As it is, David will have to buy a new truck out of this and he was talking to me tonight about now having to ship the van from the shop in Denver. If it comes to it, I'm going to figure out a way to go get it myself but I want to see if our community here can come together to get a relay going to move this from Denver to Michigan.

The van will run and drive but has no brakes currently.

I know this is a huge ask and I know I need to get more details together, but let's see if we can manage to figure out how to make this work. It doesn't need to be immediate, but work was supposed to start in about a month. We've pulled together before to do some awesome things, not the least of which was building an entire Scrambler from scratch to give away for charity, I'd like to think we can manage this now.

If you don't want to post publicly for some reason, feel free to PM me. Just let me know what you may be able to manage. I imagine it won't all be in one shot back-to-back, but if we can get it done over the next month or so, that would get it done.

Anyone think they can help with part of the relay?

I hope this forum can come through. I do remember reading about David.
I wish could help but in being in eastern Pennsylvania, it is far from me, currently recovering from knee surgery, and finding out today my work shut down for minimum of 2 weeks due to certain conditions(unsure of income situation), I can't help.

I might be able to relay from 4x4 land.. It doesn't look like it weighs more than my scram... Where might be the next spot to relay to? STL? Springfield ILL?

Well, it seems a friend of a friend of his is going to get it from where it is possibly all the way to Michigan. It will at least get to Wisconsin. He’ll let me know if it needs help from there.

So we’ll hold on this and see if that works out. Appreciate the offer @tower210!

Edited the title of this and bumping it to see if we can figure out the last leg of this journey. I know what we're up against with what's going on in the country right now, but in case someone knows of someone already making a trip in the vicinity or something...

The fleetvan made it to Elkhorn, WI and still needs to get over here to central Michigan. My tow rig is sitting with a locked up front caliper at the place I store it for the winter and my trailer is not well-suited to get this (and stored an hour from me, likely needing some love before a road trip) or I'd just go get it myself.

Would anyone have any connections that could work? It's killing David that it's just sitting during this time that would be perfect to have the shop work on it...
