help with a 82 scrambler engine.

i have an 82 scrambler with a jasper rebuilt 4.2l when i got the motor it was just the block. i have ordered all the parts and put them on the block but i am having an issue with the alternator bracket and wether or not it has a clutch fan or just a fan that bolts to the water pump. any help would be tremendous. thanks again

It looks like your engine has a standard non -heavy duty fan so no clutch just bolted direct to water pump.
Is the problem belts no aligning? There is different height water pumps and pulpy set ups.

Yeah I’ll take a picture of the alignment but it’s off by about 1/2 an inch and thanks a bunch that pic helps out a lot

There are different water pump heights and different height pulled for water pump and power steering
I had to use a water pump for a 1979 to make my water pump pulley work

Here is a breakdown of brackets and pulleys depending on your current set up:

Maybe you can cross reference your part numbers to the factory to compare.

thanks thats a big help. i bought the scrambler in a bunch of parts so i have a jigsaw puzzle to go through. ill post some pics in the next few days
