My brother-in-law needs to put a clutch in a '67 Jeepster Commando with the Buick V6.
Any recommendations out there?
Experience?
Stock or upgrade.
Drives it a good bit - not a daily driver but close.
Not a trail rig but no trailer queen either.

Just a good functioning one.

Thanks for the input if anybody has any.

I used to have a V-6, 1966 CJ-5. It did fine with the stock clutch until about 5000 rpm, then it floated and wouldn't engage. Even the Kenne-Bell HP diaphram didn't hold up; they were history once they floated at upper rpm. I went to RAM 6 paddle clutch with the 3 finger pressure plate instead of the stock diaphram pressure plate. Stock will probably hold up just fine for your bil.

Even a stock clutch will take a hammering. I have a friend who uses one for plowing and has done so for the last 20 years and has only put in one clutch in that time. There is no greater beating a clutch can take than with plowing snow in my opinion. As John says, a stock one will be fine.....
