Need CA smog legal header or exhaust manifold

So… installed Mopar MPI kit 24 years ago. Been able to get bi annual smog inspections all these years till now. No one will touch it so I’m forced to see a referee. Now my issue is going to be the non smog related header that I have. I know smog legal headers by Borla and Pacesetter were available in the past but now they are discontinued. I am asking if anyone has a smog legal header in usable shape w the EO# sticker for sale or recommendation on a stock style exhaust manifold? Ive seen omix Ada, crown, and Napa manifolds online. I think the Borla was 17053 and Pacesetter was 70-1135. I’m probably going to have to go the manifold route. Thanks for your consideration . Stay cool and have a good summer, Jeff

I have had good luck with the Dorman exhaust manifolds :twocents:

Thanks Spank for the suggestion. I was leaning towards the Dorman. It seems to be the most common one available

I am running the dorman manifold, no issues. You have to transfer the old heat riser sheet metal to the new manifold is the only issue. (If you want a heated intake.)

Follow up… had the Dorman manifold installed and exhaust cleaned up after header removal. Scrambler passed at the referee no problem. Stock manifold is quieter but I do miss the little bit of power the header gave. Next I’ll need to figure if I still need to run premium gas to avoid detonation like I had before. Thanks again for the replies

Did you have trouble finding a place that would smog it because of the MPI or did the state make you go to the referee for some reason?

I too have the MPI with a few mods but haven't had issues.

For 24 years it wasn’t a problem. For some reason this year the smog techs are skittish so I had to make an appointment w a state referee. After it passed I took the approved BAR test to my usual smog guy. He said bring approved paperwork to next smog in 2 years
