Need input on soft tops half and full

The idea has grown on me, like a beer belly, over the years 😅
For those who have tried both, pros & cons of each plz
Leaning towards the half cab. Can the rear windows be removed, unzipped at all?
How's winter? I'm in Virginia for reference

@timothy - you're a soft half top guy (though not a daily driver), so you can throw in on this.

I do know that he's been looking to replace his and it's been a challenge to find anything that's not outrageously priced. I think the features might vary depending on which one you find, since no one makes them anymore.

My thing with the full top was always shading the back seat for Laura, which isn't something you're worried with.
 
I have the soft half top from STC. I like it. I really like the look and functionality. I wish it was easy to just flop down when I want to go topless then pop back up when I want the top up. But it is not. So I have not used it for a couple of years. I tend to just use a bikini top all spring through fall. So the half top is up on a shelf. The rear window can be unzipped and rolled up and secured by a strap at the top. My strap is gone so I just use a bungee cord. But that works for me.
 
Oh I had the Bestop TigerTop for a number of years. After adding the middle bow, it worked great and I could quickly drop the top or pull it back up. I just did not like the full top look. And since my kids grew up and never wanted to ride in the Scrambler ever again, decision was made to go half top and have a usable bed.

My bikini top is officially retired. I could get another year out of it but I wasn't thrilled with the toll 32 Years have resulted in. Yes. I've had my bikini top longer than my wife of 30 years 😂
I'm going to save it for, if nothing else, dark cinnamon material 💁🏻
So now I'm looking for the easiest to put on & the best made, in coyote tan.
Any to avoid? Suggestions?

Hmmmm. I ran a denim “strapless” bikini top for many years. And it did very well until the straps deteriorated from sun and weather. It went from a black denim to a gray blue (slate?) color. I replaced it will a strap style vinyl bikini from Bestop and it lasted about 1.5 summers. Straps just ripped right apart. I now have a YJ bikini top (again Bestop I believe as I bought it used from a friend). Ran it the second half of last summer and so far so good. I just wish I could get another old denim one like I had last me many years.

That's great feedback, thanks! & granted mine wasn't used for several years.. But I think I had the same in Spice denim, strapless! the straps on mine are getting cut into with age, too, but definitely were made better back then. Like most; cheap materials=planned obsolescence. TYVM!

I think the Scramblers have hit an age where it's going to be next to impossible to see anyone doing anything for them that anyone can actually afford at the quantities of sales they would generate :shrug:
 
Agree. Pretty much anything CJ. Just about all things made also are chinee and low quality and crap out of the box.

Where are you in VA? I might be willing to let go of my STC half top
 
Next best is to build one from a full top and a boat canvas shop.
