Question for the masses..

I purchased but have yet to install the differential snubber. TDK frame, Dane 30 front and standard leaf springs. My questions has two parts - 1) is this things really necessary (I don’t plan on wheeling or anything crazy) 2) if necessary are two bolts tapped and threaded into the frame without a bung or backed nut of some kind strong enough? The TDK frames are 3/16“. Also, for install location, it looks like it is just proud of the lower portion of the frame and just an inch or so in front of the engine mount. I looked over the schematics here and other places and it seems to leave the location of the snubber support out. Thanks for all of the replies!

Wow, how the heck did I miss this thread???? Awesome stuff.

1) Your idea and my idea of what needs a rebuild are VASTLY different. I thought you were starting with after photos!

2) I wouldn't hang that clamp on the brake lines in space at all, just added weight out there that adds to the "springyness" that you don't like and causes unneeded stress.

3) If you didn't already, I'd definitely skip the pinion snubber for what you're going to do here.

4) keep it up, this is awesome.

5) I love that the boat is waiting on the Scrambler :headbang:

Well I am new at this and new and jumped in with both feet! Overboard, extra, redo… it’s all good. The body was falling apart, motor was leaking all over the place including the rear main seal. I’m an all in kinda guy. Thanks for the encouragement. hopefully more pics to follow soon!
