I had to test the lights earlier this week.

It's out of a late 90's Volvo wagon. The unique part is that the fan has perimeter bolting to the shroud so it's a bit way easier to fab up some mounting. These Volvo fans also have a cool-guy relay for use of the high/low settings of the fan too.

I'll have to measure another that I have at the shop tomorrow. These are 2spd fans too.

From the research I've done..........They are the same motor as the popular Taurus/Navigator fans. With a better mounting flange and nicer controller setup.

Definitely better mounting because of the flange. The controller is only a double set of relays-

The fan itself is about 3" tall so it's a pretty things package for as much air it moves.

878 miles logged already. It now has 5.38 gears in it too. I wish we could have went deeper with the gears but the JK D44 housing up front would not allow it unfortunately. Now I need to finish my short list. The funny part now that it's out in the world, it's showing up on the Internet with people taking pics of it. Lol

Awesome. Show the attention to detail that you still have that long a punch list. Do you wish you could go deeper for off the line performance or for off-road (or something else)??

For on road performance, I'd go deeper. Remember that 6th gear is a .62 overdrive with a lot of tire/wheel mass. There's a 4:1 t-case so it will not need any more gear for that. The hydroboost will be nice to have when it's in low range trying to keep it pent up.

It's back now for an oil change and a fire extinguisher install with a quick release mount. While it was here, I replaced the torn rubber shifter boot with a leather piece. I made some escushions to slide over the shifter shafts to cover the safety wire.

mysunnshine; I've also been building an air intake so the fresh air will come from the side fender vent. [img said:

That intake should work with a 5.7 Hemi based with Arrington's 6.1 SRT intake.

How's the Jeep doing ?

I just met up with him this past weekend. He has logged just under 2500 miles so far. He said that this Jeep gets more looks than his cool-guy $700k Porsche. The only issue that we have had is the PWM fan controller decided not to play anymore so a replacement is needed.

That style intake would work. :)

If you have time and think about it, I would love to see more pics of how you built the air intake.

My 06 LJ Hemi swap is getting closer (only 2 projects away... LOL) & just can't stand the 5.7 plastic engine cover especially when the 6.1 SRT looks so cool.

All the Hemi swap threads say that's hardest part working with front accessories and air intake... so they just use 5.7

Get some aluminum tubing and some aluminum U-bends and start cutting until it fits what you have. That's all I do... :]
