Latest work done. Had someone who does wet ground glass blasting come clean the body up.

Looks haven't change much. Been doing little things and working on another project to get it out of the shop and buying lots of parts and putting on shelves for now. Once I get the other project out of the shop I plan to ge on the 6 again pretty much full time.

First real progress in almost a year. Finally got the primer on the body. Now put it back on the frame and start building again for roll bar, seats, gear shifters, steering wheel, brake and gas pedals..... so I can take it all apart once again!

More done

Empty dash, pedal bracket, temp steering column/wheel and windshield back on for now.

Hard top back on for now.
DSC04810resized.jpg

Material for roll cage, seating mounting, and spare tire carrier/rack.

Plan now is to remove all the glass and store. Begin building roll cage and mounting for seats.

And while doing that work on priming all the other parts.

Other than the tube flares for the back and the modern flat style front flares the out side is still going to old CJ 6 style. The top is a Kelly All Steel top still has the sticker inside.

Got a little more done, got called back to work in September so time has been limited. Started shorter weeks last week so here is what I have done.

Genright CJ roll cage stanchions installed. I had to modify the way they bolt to the side, my old doors do not use the same holes as a newer CJ. The dash had different holes had to drill them as well.
Pictures show the replacement dash and the new Tuffy glove box.

More progress on the roll cage. Not complete and nothing welded out.

All tubing is 2" DOM. There is a tube slug in the side bar joint and all the bolt fitting are from TMR. This is only the start still making more bars to add for strength. This whole thing is being designed to be unbolted and removable. I don't have a really good reason for doing it that way other than that is just the way I wanted to. As always there are more pictures I didn't post in the link in my Sig.

Looking AWESOME! Love to CJ6s. My 1973 Argintine Military Ambulance right hand drive 6 is one I shouldn't have lat get away. 1,289 miles on it when I sold her in 1979. It was a blast shifting the T-14 left handed.
